FRANKINCENSE AN ESSENTIAL OIL THAT IS GOOD FOR YOU


Frankincense is an essential oil that is extensively used. It is most well known for its use in aromatherapy. The oil is extracted from Boswellia carterii or sacara which is a tree that can grow in even dry conditions.

A historic importance of this oil is that it was gifted to Jesus by the three wise men.

USES:

Frankincense oil can be used both by ingesting as well as by applying to skin. When purchasing this oil, choose one that mentions that the oil is 100% pure. Oil mixed with synthetic products reduces its efficacy.

AS BATH OIL:

Frankincense oil when used in bath can decrease stress and anxiety. It will make you feel relaxed and at peace and you will enjoy your bath like never before.

AS AN ANTI-SEPTIC:

This oil has anti-septic effects which mean that you can use it to clean your house and rid it of germs.

Because of its ability to fight germs including bacteria, frankincense oil is used to prevent tooth decay as well. It is helpful against dental caries and will give you a fresh, fragrant breath. If you combine frankincense oil with baking soda, it will give you your own home made toothpaste.

AS A BEAUTY PRODUCT:

Frankincense oil is great for skin. It reduces the appearance of wrinkles, thus making skin young and youthful. It also prevents skin from other issues like acne breakout, marks and spots on the skin. The oil should be applied to the face after being mixed with another oil that is unscented.

Other than this, this oil can also fasten up the process of wound healing and actually decreases the appearance of a scar. However, skin that is open should not be exposed to the oil. The oil also fights against eczema.

If a few drops of frankincense oil is mixed with water and then ingested, it can decrease the symptoms of various gastrointestinal problems like cramps, constipation, pain in stomach and menstrual pain.

Another great benefit is that frankincense oil has been shown to improve our immune systems. This means that it can help the body in fighting infections. RECIPES YOU CAN MAKE AT HOME WITH FRANKINCENSE OIL:

SOAP:

INGREDIENTS:

Frankincense oil- about 20 drops

Pomegranate oil as carrier oil- 5 drops

Mold

Soap base

INSTRUCTIONS:

Melt the soap base by heating it on the stove in a container over a sauce pan filled with water.

Once it is melted, allow it to cool before adding the two oils.

Once you have thoroughly mixed it, pour into the mold and let it cool.

BODY BUTTER:

Mix two ounce of shea butter and heat it till it melts. Add 10 drops each of Jasmine and Frankincense oil and mix them well. Make sure the oil is warm but not too hot and then apply the mixture to your scar region. This will reduce the scar in size and appearance.

BODY CREAM FOR IMPROVING SLEEP:

Use half teaspoon of olive oil that has been softened.

Add five drops frankincense oil, 5 drops lavender oil, one and a half table spoon coconut oil and mix them all together.

Apply the mixture to your face or anywhere else on the body for inducing sleep.

LOTION:

Mix together 1/4 cup each of olive oil, shea butter, bees wax and coconut oil in a bowl.

Place this bowl over a container filled with water that is being heated on the stove.

When thoroughly mixed, allow it to cool in a refrigerator.

Once the mixture is solid, beat it with a mixer till it is fluffy.

Now add 2 tablespoon Vitamin E, 20 drops each of frankincense oil and myrrh oil and mix thoroughly.

This lotion is great for skin as it hydrates the skin as well as keep it fresh and young.
